What Exactly is Happening?
Earlier this year, the Iowa legislature passed House File 2677, a law requiring the state to create a strict registry of approved nicotine vapor products. After a brief delay in the courts, the Iowa Department of Revenue is officially launching this directory on October 15, 2026.
Once that list goes live, it becomes the law of the land. The exact second the directory is published, every retailer in the state—including us—is legally prohibited from selling any vape product that isn't on it.
Heads Up: Prepare for a Temporary Drought
We aren't going to sugarcoat it: when the registry drops on October 15th, there is going to be a severe shortage of available vape options right out of the gate.
Because the FDA's approval process is notoriously slow and the state's listing process takes time, many of the popular disposable vapes, specific flavor profiles, and independent e-liquid brands you know and love will likely not make the cut for the initial directory rollout. On October 15th, if it isn't on that list, it gets pulled from our shelves immediately.
However, this drought won't last forever. As manufacturers finalize their paperwork and the state updates the registry, more products will be approved. The minute a compliant product gets officially added to the list, we will be fighting to get it on our shelves for you.
